KCRG Story-Parents lost son in motorcycle crash, start fundraiser to help students ‘Live Like Cam’

KCRG's Keegan Turnbough sat down with Cameron's family in September 2025 to discuss the impact of Cameron's life and the legacy that continues to live on through Live Like Cam.
During the interview, Cameron's family reflected on learning that Cameron chose to become an organ donor at just 19 years old because he wanted the opportunity to help others if he ever could. Through his donations, Cameron gave others the chance to continue living full and healthy lives.
Live Like Cam was created to honor Cameron's legacy through kindness, organ donation awareness, trade scholarships, motorcycle safety awareness, attentive driving, and giving back to our communities.
“I think Cam is enjoying us doing this instead of mourning. He wants to see us happy,” says Schaefer. “I think he’s happy.”
